Precision welding sample: wire and pipe butt welding

Butt welding of small diameter wire.

【Processing Overview】 ■Material: Nitinol (shape memory alloy) ■Work Size: φ0.5mm + φ0.5mm ■Processing Machine: Laser Welding The components are joined together by butt welding. Depending on the material, some may still be in the research stage. We have experience with wire sizes starting from φ0.3 and pipe materials with an outer diameter of φ0.89-t0.15 and above. 【Advantages of This Processing】 As a single-piece processing method, machining with lathes and other equipment can be too elongated and difficult, or even if it is possible, it may take a lot of time and require various processing jigs. If the quality and cost do not meet the targets, producing parts separately and then welding them can bring the quality and cost closer to the goals. Although this results in multiple parts, each can be processed at normal costs without the need for special jigs, and areas where surface roughness was unsatisfactory in single-piece processing can be improved. The parts are then welded together to form a single unit. *For more details, please contact us.

[Processing Report] Welding of Disk and Shaft

Welding with a butt joint! Introducing the welding of a 5mm thick disc and shaft!

This report introduces "Welding of a disk (SUS304) and a shaft (S15C)." When attempting to weld using a lap joint, a power sufficient to melt at least 5mm thickness is required, which not only increases the bead width but also makes it easier for cracks and holes to occur. Therefore, this time we will perform welding using a butt joint (butt welding). This method involves applying heat to the area where the disk and shaft are in contact, melting both components to join them together. [Overview] ■ Test processing: Welding with a butt joint ■ Results - No cracks or holes, resulting in a clean finish - Cross-sectional photos confirm an inverted triangular shape of the weld penetration - Demonstrated that a consistent penetration depth can be achieved while filling the gap between the components *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
